Discovery Park

At 534 acres, Discovery Park is the largest park in Seattle, and perhaps the wildest. Meander the 11 miles of trails through forests, fields and bluffs, all the way to sandy beaches and the sea. You might see whales, sea lions and seals, as well as squirrels, chipmunks and hundreds of different types of birds. The fall colors are quite striking throughout the park, as well.

Washington Park

Your best bet for fall leaf peeping in the city is the Washington Park Arboretum. This 230-acre arboretum inside Washington Park has more deciduous tree species than any other setting in the Pacific Northwest, making for a very vibrant autumn show. Check out the Woodland Garden — this exhibit, the largest collection of Japanese maples in North America, is the most colorful in the whole arboretum.
